Staff Profile
I am a Spanish biomedical engineer whose enthusiasm for discovering new cultures drove to study all around the world. My passion for science has been the main motivation to step in the field of medical technology at an academic environment. Here, I aim to support clinical practice while creating substantial value for public health, with special focus on economically developing countries. Thus, the objectives of my research perfectly match with my ethical principles.

I am interested in the fields of human movement sciences, biomechanics, kinesiology, wearable technology, neurology, medical technology and signals processing.
I am currently working as a Research Associate in the Brain and Movement (BAM) Research Group led by Prof. Lynn Rochester at the Institute of Neuroscience of Newcastle University.
My current project is quantifying gait and postural control by using accelerometer-based wearable technology both in controlled (i.e. the laboratory) and free-living environments.
I am currently involved in the Mobilise-D project, the project aims at connecting digital mobility assessment to clinical outcomes for regulatory and clinical endorsement. The project is funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking under grant agreement No 820820. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and EFPIA.
