Dr Michelle Miller
Student Digital Skills Officer
Michelle joined the Faculty of Medical Sciences in June 2017. Prior to coming to Newcastle, she taught at the postgraduate level in the United States for eight years. Her professional and academic focus has centred on the development and delivery of digital and information literacy skill in higher education. And her doctoral thesis explored themes of adult learning theory and practice in academic libraries. Her continued development focuses on information and digital skills equity in our communities.
Here at Newcastle, Michelle's primary role is teaching digital skills, such as intermediate and advanced Microsoft Office skills, to FMS undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as postgraduates in HaSS and SAgE. In addition to delivering point-of-need and bespoke instruction sessions, she meets with students by request to provide them with individual support and instruction.
