Nav is a Senior Research Associate in the Population Health Sciences Institute at Newcastle University.
She is currently working in the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) collaboration with the University of Edinburgh (https://www.ed.ac.uk/usher/advanced-care-research-centre) in the 'New models of care' work package. She is also part of the Applied Research Collaboration North-East North-Cumbria (ARC NENC) (https://arc-nenc.nihr.ac.uk/) and is affiliated with the Multimorbidity, Ageing, and Frailty theme (https://arc-nenc.nihr.ac.uk/our-research-themes/multimorbidity/)
Nav previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Warwick Medical School in the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Improving Health in Slums, and before that in the Behavioural Science Group at Warwick Business School.
Nav completed a multi-disciplinary PhD in Ageing and Rehabilitation/Health Psychology at the University of Nottingham. She also has an MSc in Medical Statistics (University of Leicester) and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (University of Leeds). Before her PhD, Nav worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Leicester and as a Research Associate at the University of Nottingham.
Nav is a mixed-methods researcher with significant experience in health services research that can influence policy and practice. Her expertise is in the application of psychological/behavioural theory to improve care and support for people with physical and mental health multimorbidity. Nav is interested in intervention development, evaluation, and implementation research in the UK and internationally, including in low-and-middle-income countries.
