Staff Profile
Dr Stephanie Roberts
Project Administrator
Background
I joined N.U.B.S. in January 2021 as Project Administrator to Creative Fuse North East. My background is in university administration and in ethical sharing of "big data" from large-scale volunteer research projects (e.g. UK birth cohorts).
In addition to my role with Creative Fuse NE, I chair the University's Disability Interest Group peer-support network.
Research
GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR GENOMICS AND HEALTH:
Associated with the Regulatory and Ethics work stream (REWS) for the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), I am part of a team of authors led by Professor Madeleine Murtagh, with Dr Danya Vears (University of Melbourne, Australia) and Dr Joel Minion (Newcastle University) working on a systematic review of stakeholder views on the return of results from genomic research. Key questions include whether stakeholders want to return or receive individual findings. Initial findings were shared at the GA4GH 7th Plenary meeting in Boston, 2019.
