I have a wide range of knowledge and expertise in the research support function having worked in research administration since 2004.  My roles within the Faculty of Medical Sciences are detailed below:

• Research Support Co-ordinator, School of Clinical Medical Sciences (Child Health) 2004-2008
• Research Support Co-ordinator, Institute of Cellular Medicine 2008-2015
• Research Support Co-ordinator, Institute of Neuroscience 2015-2017
• Research Officer, Faculty of Medical Sciences Research Support Team 2017-2018
• Senior Research Officer and Team Lead, Faculty of Medical Sciences 2018-

I manage the research support function, covering all pre-award activity across the Faculty .  The main roles within my remit are below:

Provide management level support on costing and pricing of research proposals and lead those bids that are of strategic importance to the Faculty

Provide a co-ordinated and efficient research support service across the Faculty ensuring each location has the necessary research support staff cover to meet their needs

Organise training and development for the Research Officer team

Develop and maintain the research support content of the Faculty's website and intranet

Offer a broad range of advice and support regarding research activities and protocol within the Faculty

Provide statistical information on research to inform future strategy

Promote research collaboration within and outside of the Faculty
