FMSEngage Film Festival

EngageFMS are carrying on the legacy of the MiLAN collective (Medicine in Literature and Arts in Newcastle) by screening a series of films in 2020. Every other month the film will be on a medical or health related theme. For details of the films this year please see below. Each screening will include a post-show discussion with academics from Newcastle University on the issues raised in the film. 

Free and open to all, these films offer a unique way to learn more about the research going on at our university, and how this relates to representation on the big screen.

Venue: All screenings will take place at; The Catalyst Building, 3 Science Square, Newcastle Helix, NE4 5TG. For timings please see individual events below.

Please note: Families and children are welcome, although film certificates will apply. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Never Let Me Go

The second film in our 2020 season will be: Never Let Me Go. As children, Ruth, Kathy and Tommy spend their childhood at a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. As they grow into young adults, they find that they have to come to terms with the strength of the love they feel for each other, while preparing themselves for the haunting reality that awaits them.
