James Berry Poetry Prize 2021 Reading

Date/Time: Thursday 28th October 2021, 7pm to 8pm

Venue: Via YouTube - details to be sent on booking

The inaugural NCLA James Berry Poetry Prize competition ran from 1st April to 31st July this year and was designed to assist emerging poets of colour ready to take their work to the next level via mentoring and publication. It was devised by Bernardine Evaristo OBE, and Nathalie Teitler and is modelled on The Complete Works mentoring programme. The prize is generously supported this year by Arts Council England.

Competition judges Neil Astley, Sinéad Morrissey, Theresa Munoz, Jacob Sam-La Rose and Nathalie Teitler had the difficult task of shortlisting poets from the 100+ entries received down to three equal winners. The winners will receive £1,000, expert mentoring and a debut collection published with Bloodaxe Books.

Join us on the night to hear the shortlisted poets and competition winners!

The event is free to attend, and all very welcome.
