Literature in Translation: Lutz Seiler and Stefan Tobler in conversation with Bill Herbert

NCLA are proud to welcome Lutz Seiler, winner of the 2023 Georg Büchner Prize, Germany’s most esteemed literary award, for his body of work about growing up in the former East Germany and beyond. Seiler and his publisher Stefan Tobler will be in conversation with poet Bill Herbert about three of his critically acclaimed works Starr 111, a novel, In Case of Loss, non-fiction, and his poetry collection Pitch and Glint all published by And Other Stories in 2023.

Born in Belém, Brazil, to English and Swiss parents, Stefan Tobler is a translator and the founder of And Other Stories publishing company. Authors he has translated include Clarice Lispector, Raduan Nassar and Arno Geiger.

Bill Herbert is Professor of Poetry and Creative Writing at Newcastle University.
