NCLA Student Event: Careers in the Literary Arts
Open to Newcastle University Students
Date/Time: Wednesday 4th May 2022, 2.00pm to 3.30pm
Venue: Newcastle University
Whether you are an aspiring journalist, script writer, influencer, poet, or literary agent, this event is for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the literary arts. Join us for a wide-ranging discussion featuring a panel of publishers, writers, and industry professionals to learn more about the types of roles and jobs you might pursue, and how you may go about forging a career in the literary arts. The panellists will talk about opportunities and challenges as well as their own experiences and will answer any questions you have.
After the event, there will be time to meet the panellists individually at a networking event to seek advice and discuss your own aspirations.
The event will be hosted by poet, creative writing tutor and NCLA Research Associate John Challis.
If you would like to submit questions for the panel in advance, please email Melanie at Melanie.Birch@ncl.ac.uk. You are also welcome to ask questions at the event.
Please note this event is open to Newcastle University students only, and the venue will be emailed to you after you have booked a place.
