Newcastle University Basketball club currently have teams competing in both the BUCS Leagues and the National Basketball League.

The Men’s Basketball 1st team had their best ever season in 2016/17, finishing 3rd overall in the country after a successful BUCS Premiership campaign..   The team also clinched promotion to the BBL National 1 league, their 3rd consecutive promotion in a row enhancing our reputation and profile across the basketball community.

We also have a Second's and Third's team in BUCS and also hold an intramural league.

The Women's Programme has 2 teams competing in BUCS. The First team currently compete in the BUCS Premier North division and boast recruits from NCAA Division 1A and Professional Leagues in Spain and Holland.

Newcastle University are partnered with the Durham Palatinates who compete in the WBBL. The partnership ensures that our talented players have the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level of British Basketball. Player development is at the heart of our programme and the Head Coaches and support staff from both clubs work together to ensure that BUCS and WBBL schedules complement each other and players reach the full potential."
