Design

In collaboration with the Research Design Service North East, we provide practical advice on study design for applications to NIHR and other national peer-reviewed funding programmes.

Requests for advice should be directed through the RDS NE website.

Following receipt of a request for advice, an NCTU adviser may attend an initial consultation meeting with the researcher. Should further support be required with a view to an application for funding, and where this is in alignment with NCTU Strategic objectives, a member of the NCTU team will be assigned as the primary contact to support the proposed study moving forward.

For those research proposals that do not fit within the remit of the RDS NE, NCTU welcomes direct contact from potential investigators who are keen to develop clinical trials in collaboration with industry partners.

Assessment of requests

Initial requests for support will be assessed at weekley meetings of the NCTU management team. Please therefore expect a response to enquiries within six working days of submission.

In order for NCTU to provide a high level of service, we regret that we cannot accommodate proposals submitted to us less than five weeks from outline, or eight weeks from full application deadlines.
