Roles and Responsibilities

I am a Database Manager in the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit working with the rest of the Database/Data Management Team on clinical trials data.

My current responsibilities include the work on various trials on database design and building, data cleaning, investigation and resolution of data queries and the reporting of data.

I am currently working on the trials:

AIMM: Acipimox in Mitochondrial Myopathy

A single-centre randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, adaptive design trial of the efficacy of acipimox in patients with Mitochondrial Myopathy.


ALTAR: ALternatives To prophylactic Antibiotics for the treatment of Recurrent urinary tract infection in women

A multicentre, pragmatic patient-randomised non-inferiority trial comparing two drugs for the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infection in women both during a 12-month period of use and in the subsequent 6-months following completion of the prophylactic medication.  


DIBS: Dual Bronchodilators in Bronchiectasis Study

A pragmatic, multicentre, placebo-controlled, 3-arm, double-blinded, randomised controlled trial, incorporating an internal pilot, to determine the role of bronchodilators in preventing exacerbations of bronchiectasis.


MultICath: A non-inferiority randomised controlled trial to compare mixed (multi/single-use) catheter management with single-use catheter management by intermittent catheter users over 12 months.
