We offer courses in medicinal chemistry or organic, inorganic, physical & analytical chemistry.

Chemistry
Our Chemistry MSc provides advance training across organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry.
The course will allow you to achieve a high level of research competence.
The research project and dissertation will provide you with training in tackling and communicating the results of a significant research problem in chemistry.
You will also gain experience in relevant aspects of laboratory work, including COSHH and safety.
Drug Chemistry
We developed the Drug Chemistry MSc to provide training in modern organic and medicinal chemistry.
This is from conception to development, and through to the production of novel drugs.
It allows you to gain hands-on experience of working within a medicinal chemistry team as part of your research project.
The MSc is a starting point for a research career. It provides you with the skills required for employment in industries including:
- pharmaceutical
- biopharmaceutical
- biotech industries
You could also use it as a stepping stone into PhD research.

Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarships 2019/20
The University is offering Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarships on the basis of:
- a £5,000 award per student
- for UK students progressing from an undergraduate course for which they were charged the higher tuition fee (£9,000 or above) from 2012 onwards
- for 2019 entry to eligible taught or research Master’s degrees only
- for students with an offer of a place on an eligible course: students without an academic offer will not be considered
