I am working with Professor Ilias Kyriazakis, Dr. Stephen Mackenzie and Dr. Joao Filipe to estimate environmental consequences from breeding pigs for different traits.

My project is funded by Defra and ERA-Net SusAn and is in collaboration with several partners across the EU in the SusPig project.

Through life cycle assessment based on extensive animal modelling, we investigate which genetic traits are most important to reduce environmental impact and how this has changed over the last decades.
