Biology and Zoology Research

We focus on an understanding of biological and ecological systems and then apply our findings to a wide range of problems. Our research influences management and policy with staff serving on both national and international committees that contribute to real-world impact.

Our work is funded from a range of sources as diverse as our research activities. Funding has been provided by NERC, BBSRC, ESRC, EPSRC, RELU, EU, The Leverhulme Trust, Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund, Darwin Initiative, DEFRA and a wide range of industrial sources.

Members of the School have worked extensively with AHVLA and in 2013 established a joint University Research Centre for Wildlife Management with extensive collaborations between the two organisations.
