Chemistry Research

Our research focuses on applying fundamental chemical science to understand and solve the problems of tomorrow.

We develop new insights into chemical processes. We use this to design new molecules and materials that solve problems across our key research areas.

Dynamic range of research

Chemistry at Newcastle provides a vigorous and dynamic range of research programmes. The types of chemistry involved are physical, inorganic, organic, medicinal and theoretical.

Our work is generously supported by a range of funding agencies (eg Cancer Research UK, EPSRC, Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and ERC).
