TransSLO assessed the transport research capability in Slovenia and facilitated the involvement of Slovenian organisations in European projects by identifying key representative individuals and organisations and promoting collaboration in the then 25 EU member states and associated countries. Analysis was carried out using a systems approach considering the skills and innovations of Slovenia.

Transport representatives and relevant experts from stakeholders throughout Europe, involved parties and relevant disciplines were identified to establish and set up a forum to support and provide advice in identifying and selecting the essential issues affecting transport research in Europe. These key issues were the basis for ISEP 2007. The output of this event formed the core of the final report describing the situation in the 25 EU member States and associated countries, setting the priorities for Slovenia transport research.
