Ligand and growth factor-dependent signalling

About

We study many components of these signalling pathways in cancer cells. We look for agents that can block individual dysregulated pathways.

About

Cellular processes are precisely controlled by inter-cellular and intra-cellular communication networks. This ensures their normal operation.

Transfer of information relies on an activating ligand or growth factor engaging with its cognate receptor to transmit a signal.

In cancer cells, these signalling pathways are perturbed. They frequently alter the properties of the cancer cell. This often results in hyper-proliferation and increased invasive potential.
