Businesses in the South West of England are being invited to a national virtual event to help them along their journey to net zero.

The National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) is taking part in 'Your business journey to Net Zero' on Tuesday (6 July) from 10am to 4pm which will give SMEs practical solutions and tools to help them achieve their low-carbon goals.

NICRE will be showcasing Net Zero in rural enterprise and speaking to two South West businesses in a session which runs from 11.25am to 11.55am.

Will Mansell, from The Bike Drop, and Lizzie Dyer, from Just Kidding, will share their own Net Zero journeys while David Buckpitt, from NICRE’s business partners Azets, will give tips and advice – book your place

NICRE's 'Just one thing' campaign

The session is part of NICRE’s aim to make a practical difference by tackling society’s grand challenges – such as Net Zero – and fostering resilient and sustainable rural economies.

Participants will also get the chance to hear about NICRE’s ‘Just one thing’ campaign to help rural businesses take steps to reducing carbon which will launch this summer.

The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s ‘Your business journey’ to Net Zero is designed to help small businesses which want to play their part in climate change, but don't know where is best to start.

The event will deliver tools, solutions and ideas to help small businesses map their best next steps. The event also seeks to help businesses consider the opportunities stemming from the transition to a low carbon economy.

There will be multiple presentations and interaction with leaders on this subject, featuring speakers and businesses from across the region as well as some national speakers.  We are delighted to confirm that the Minister for Investment, Lord Grimstone and the Government’s UK Net Zero Business Champion, Andrew Griffith MP, will be addressing the event.

In addition, there will be a virtual exhibition hall for delegates to find out about their Local Enterprise Partnership, along with more products and services that will be of interest to them as they look to lower their carbon emissions.

Please note that due to the variety and breadth of the day’s content, all sessions will be recorded so that delegates will be able to access presentations that they were unable to attend live on the day. If you have any questions please do get in touch with the team via our general mailbox
