Strong Team Spirit during NUMed Games 2020

The NUMed Games 2020 which took place on  the 7th and 8th of March 2020 had students on their toes as they faced stiff competition in their bid for the winning titles. The highly anticipated inter-university sports event is running in its seventh year, a reflection of Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia’s (NUMed) vision of providing a wholesome educational experience to its students.

This year, NUMed Games welcomed 656 students from universities across the country, who competed in games ranging from volleyball, futsal, badminton, athletics and basketball to table tennis, netball, swimming, frisbee and tug of war. The complex makes an ideal venue as it encompasses an arena and pitches for field sports and athletics, an indoor arena and facilities for badminton and netball, a gymnasium and a 50-metre swimming pool.

Cheers and applause could be heard throughout the stadium as participants showed true grit going into the competitions.

“The participants look forward to playing against other universities, while the rest come as supporters and enjoy the comradeship with others in the team,” said Kuhaneshwar J Ravichandran, the President of NUMed’s Student Association.
