Sharon Ong

Lecturer (Clinical)

Background

Dr Sharon Ong graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2008. Following that, she worked in John Hunter Hospital Newcastle NSW, Australia before moving to Singapore.

She was offered a scholarship for her Master of Medicine in Family Medicine (National University of Singapore) which she completed in 2013. During her time in Singapore, she worked in various government hospitals and polyclinics. She was actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents during her role as a certified Family Physician.  

She is currently a Clinical Lecturer in Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia and is mainly in charge of primary care teaching in the clinical years. She is pursuing her Certificate in Medical Education as part of her endeavour to be a better educator and uphold the outstanding teaching quality that NUMed is renowned for.
