Newcastle University Protein and Proteome Analysis

We will help you to find out more about proteins – be they purified or in complex mixtures.

We identify proteins, including:

  • from bands in SDS-PAGE gels
  • in 2D gel spots
  • in solution
  • protein precipitates

We can also perform experiments to quantify proteins. One example of this is the quantitation of individual proteins in sets of samples. Another example is the relative quantitation of large numbers of proteins in very complex samples.

We characterise proteins to find out about their:

  • molecular weight
  • interaction partners
  • post-translational modifications

This can also sometimes be achieved in the context of quantitative experiments.
