Information for Parents

If your son or daughter is accepted onto a Newcastle course, we'll do everything we can to help them adjust to university life.

They'll be sent a copy of our Pre-Arrival Information which tells them everything they need to know about starting university.

Freshers' Week, organised by our students, is an excellent way to settle into student life. Over 300 student volunteers look after our new students, making sure they're included in what's going on and helping with any concerns.

Our student volunteers 'meet and greet' students arriving in Newcastle and at University accommodation. This friendly, supportive welcome ensures that your son/daughter can relax and settle in before teaching starts.
