Overview
Our old population is growing. This means a greater need to understand the mechanisms of ageing and age-related disease. This helps us to undertake research with older people and to prescribe what they need.
These courses are for those with a particular interest in ageing, including:
- clinicians
- allied health professionals
- scientists
You'll understand the needs of older people. You'll learn to identify research opportunities to improve the health of the ageing population.
The courses are ideal if you have a primary qualification (eg MBBS, BDS, BSc) and are working in the fields of health or life sciences. Our courses are flexible so that they are compatible with professional career pathways. All this while addressing the needs of a modern health service.
Collaborative development of these courses continues between:
- Newcastle University
- Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- the NIHR Newcastle Training School as part of the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre in Ageing and Chronic Disease
