International students (from outside of the UK/EU) will be charged fees at the international rate. Part-time fees for international students normally do not apply as your student visa requires you to study full time.

Assessing your fee status
You may be unsure if you have a UK, EU or non-EU international fee status.
The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) provides guidance on who is eligible for UK/EU fees.
We will assess your fee status using the information in your postgraduate application. In some cases we may ask you to complete a fees assessment questionnaire and send us extra documents.
Confirmation of our assessment of your fees status will be in your offer letter.
Tuition fees are usually payable for each year of your study. If you begin your studies mid-year, you will only pay the proportion of your tuition fee due to cover the period to the end of the academic year.
If your course lasts longer than an academic year, the fee due in the following September will normally be higher than in the previous year, due to an inflationary increase.
International students and research students will need to pay half of their annual tuition fees in order to register at the University in September. The second half of your fees will be due in the following January.
Further fee payment information for international and research students can be found on our pre-arrival website.
Tuition fee instalment scheme
UK/EU students registering for an eligible taught postgraduate course with a September start date can pay for their annual tuition fees in six instalments. Read more about our tuition fee instalments scheme

European Union Referendum
A referendum to determine whether the UK remains in the European Union was held on Thursday 23 June 2016 and the outcome was that the UK should leave the European Union. Whilst this decision will have many consequences, there will be no major changes taking place immediately, as there will be a gradual, managed exit process.
EU students starting at Newcastle in 2019 will pay the UK (Home) tuition fee for the full duration of their course.
