Overview

We offer a two-instalment or a six-instalment scheme, depending on the type of course you are undertaking and whether you are a UK/EU or international student.

International students and research students normally pay their annual tuition fees in two instalments. You pay half of your annual tuition fees by 24 September 2018. The second half of your fees are due by 31 January 2019.

Courses with non-September start dates have a different tuition fee payment schedule.

If you prefer to pay your annual tuition fees in full at registration you could be eligible for a 2% tuition fee discount.

UK and EU students undertaking an eligible postgraduate taught course can now pay their annual tuition fees in six instalments.

Paying by Six Instalments - UK/EU taught course students

Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to pay by six instalments if you:

• have accepted an offer to study an eligible postgraduate taught course
• are starting your course in September 
• are paying the UK/EU tuition fees
• have a UK bank account

Eligible courses

You can pay in six instalments if you are registering for an eligible course. Your taught postgraduate course could be one of the following:

• postgraduate certificate (PGCert)
• postgraduate diploma (PGDip)
• a Master's course (eg MA, MSc, MBA, LLM)

Non-eligible courses

If your course is not eligible, you will usually pay either by two annual tuition fee instalments or pay your annual tuition fees in full at registration. Examples of ineligible courses:

• some part time courses
• some courses with January or flexible start dates
• some continuous professional development (CPD) courses/modules, credit accumulation or where you pay per module
• research degrees

How to apply

If you are a UK/EU student undertaking an eligible postgraduate taught course, you will automatically have the option to pay for your annual tuition fee in six instalments, or by one payment at registration. If you prefer to pay your annual tuition fees in full you could be eligible for a 2% tuition fee discount.

Methods of Payment

You will receive registration instructions from August. If you choose to pay by six instalments you will need to complete a direct debit form.

We can only set up direct debits from UK bank accounts. If you do not have a UK bank account, we can give you a bank introductory letter so that you can set one up.

Instalment dates for 2018/19

20% of your annual tuition fee must be paid by 24 September 2018. We accept a range of payment methods including debit and credit cards. The remaining five direct debit instalments are due on the following dates:

• 3 December 2018: 16% of annual tuition fee
• 4 February 2019: 16% of annual tuition fee
• 4 March 2019: 16% of annual tuition fee
• 2 May 2019: : 16% of annual tuition fee
• 3 June 2019: 16% of annual tuition fee

You have until the 12 November 2018 to complete your direct debit form.

Postgraduate Master’s Loan Scheme

If you are in receipt of a Postgraduate Master's Loan from Student Finance England or Wales then you may request to pay your tuition fees in three instalments to match your loan disbursement dates. We can only offer this option when the Student Loans Company has confirmed to the University that your loan has been fully approved. Once this notification has been received, the University will contact you to find out if you would like to pay in three instalments.

Tuition fee discount

If you prefer to pay your annual tuition fees in full you could be eligible for a 2% tuition fee discount.
