To give students advanced knowledge and awareness of air pollutants, their source, measurement and control.
To provide the student with a knowledge of the sources and characteristics of air pollutants, their impact on the environment, and the methodology for air quality monitoring. Monitoring and Modelling techniques will be introduced and remediation techniques discussed.

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
Lectures impart key knowledge and the involvement of a practising air pollution consultant in lecturing gives students real life examples. Visit to monitoring station and group exercise show role in local authority in air pollution control.
