Projects require close working between the student and the supervisor and thus it is important for the student to meet the supervisors on a regular and formal basis to ensure the project is progressing according to the plan and to address any issues when they arise. This ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner and to the highest possible standards.

Assessment Rationale And Relationship

The research project will be marked by the academic supervisor and a second academic, not associated with the project. It will be marked according to a marking scheme issued to the students prior to the undertaking of the project. If there is a discrepancy of more than 10% in the two marks a third marker is appointed. In addition the external examiner may read all dissertations and have the opportunity to interview all students and during this time assess their performance on the project.

The submission of a dissertation is an appropriate way to assess the learning outcomes stated.

The poster session enables students to show effective communication strategies.
