To develop understanding of topics in engineering of smart and urban systems, through case studies in Cyber Physical Systems, Data Visualisation, Intelligent transport systems and Renewable energy. To discuss responses to the questions raised in CSC8701 "Introduction to Smart Systems" to help students develop and critique responses to challenges in the changing urban environment.

The lectures will cover core material and develop knowledge in concepts, challenges and professional
issues. Workshops and online discussion will develop student thinking on their research topic and develop
skills in critical thinking, communicating with different audiences and giving constructive feedback.
