Lecturer in Forensic Psychology

Research

My research uses social and cognitive psychological theory to solve applied problems; mostly in investigative, legal and security settings. Streams of particular interest are: 1) How emerging technology and the internet can facilitate unlawful acts; 2) Strategies for information elicitation and deception detection in investigative interviews and other security settings; and, 3) Offender use of manipulation and influencing techniques to commit or evade punishment for unlawful acts.

Teaching

I am module leader for PSY3030 Foundations in Forensic Psychology, and PSY8061 Advanced Research Methods for Applied Psychology. I am also lead for the Research Methodologies topic on the Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology Practice.
