The University has a large range of state of the art Marine Science Facilities at its disposal for hands-on experience:
The laboratory in Cullercoats has supported excellence in Marine Science research, education and outreach for more than a century.
Designed in-house by staff and students, the research vessel is a valuable resource for teaching and research, and is available for commercial charter.
Based on the Unviersity's central campus, we have a range of laboratories, aquariums and an algal culture suite.
NU-Food combines academic expertise and unique facilities to address research questions about how consumers, food producers, retailers and processors think about food and how they make their decisions about it. We are able to link decision-making to people’s physiological and psychological responses to foods and ingredients.
Facilities and equipment include: an industry-standard pilot kitchen and sensory testing suite; assessment rooms for human intervention studies; fully equipped laboratory facilities and training kitchen; meeting rooms and focus group amenities; 'virtual' food choice environments; cognitive testing facilities.
