Our exchange programme gives you the opportunity to study abroad at another university as part of your Fine Art degree. It can become a highly valuable and stimulating part of your student experience.
We also have a lot of exchange students who come to Newcastle to study Fine Art, and they make a valuable contribution to the internation perspective of our course.

You can apply to study at one of our partner institutions for a semester (three to five months) in stage three.
Newcastle University participates in the Socrates-Erasmus Exchange Programme and we have student mobility agreements with institutions in Munich, Muenster, Berlin, Warsaw, Ghent, Vienna, Istanbul, Aarhus, Odense, Bergen, Tromsø, Umeå, Nancy and Montpellier.
You can also study under the International Exchange Programme. We have Partners in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle) as well as Canade (Montreal and Waterloo).
Work Experience Placements
We run work experience placements with arts organisations and artists abroad. You can take part during the summer break between stage three and four of the undergraduate course. These are also supported by the Socrates-Erasmus programme. They offer some funding towards your travel and livings costs abroad.
