About the Course

Environmental, Health and Safety Management for Power Distribution Engineers

A detailed look at the legislation and regulations relating to electrical power distribution.

In particular, you'll find out about risk assessment, which plays an increasingly important role in health and safety, environmental and business decision making.

This course is also delivered on at least one of the Faculty's Masters programmes in the School of Engineering, and you will attend alongside full and part time registered students.

Objectives and Outline

Environmental, Health and Safety Management for Power Distribution Engineers

Course Objectives

We'll provide you with a general introduction to global environmental and health and safety issues. Setting power distribution engineering in its wider regulatory context, we'll:

  • suggest mechanisms for identifying hazards and evaluating risks
  • discuss how to reduce risks through Best Management Practice, including quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems

Academic Module Outline

This course is also delivered as a Module (code EEE8045) on at least one of the Faculty's Masters programmes, the majority of which can be studied part time, making them suitable for those in employment. You will attend with full and part time registered students. The Academic Module Outline is available via the University's Module Catalogue.
