Overview

Our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers allow you to investigate the physical and chemical properties of atoms and molecules.

These facilities are managed by highly experienced researchers. The spectrometers are able to observe virtually all NMR-active nuclei and perform the most demanding NMR experiments.

The NMR facility underwent a major refurbishment in 2014 at a cost of more than £1.3m. It now hosts four NMR spectrometers including a 700 MHz equipped with a nitrogen-cooled cryoprobe for enhanced sensitivity.

This air-conditioned purpose-built laboratory also contains offices for personnel and additional computing provision.

Our particular expertise is in multinuclear NMR experiments over a wide temperature range.
