EPSRC Innovation Placements
Do you have a project that could benefit from a PhD student's expertise?
We have been awarded funding via the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) to enable all postgraduate students funded via the Engineering & Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) to access additional Innovation placement opportunities.
Innovation Placement funding is to be used for existing EPSRC funded students working in areas of relevance to the Industrial Strategy themes:
- healthcare and medicine
- robotics and artificial intelligence
- batteries for clean and flexible energy storage
- self-driving vehicles
- manufacturing and materials of the future
- satellites and space technology
Placement opportunities are requested for up to 3 months and will be fully funded by the EPSRC via Newcastle University.
Funding available:
The NPIF Placement award will provide:
- a maximum of £5,000 per student for UK placements
- a maximum of £7,500 per student for International placements
This includes:
- travel and accommodation costs
- a living allowance of up to £1,231 per calendar month
- any additional costs relevant to the placement
