Spotlight Event - Tropical Health and Environmental Research
We invite you to learn about our new initiative to address global health problems.
Date/Time: 21 November 2017, 11:30-13:00
Venue: Research Beehive, Room 2.21
New base for bridging health and the wider environment
Established in 2011, our NUMed campus in Johor, Malaysia, is expanding.
It will include a new base for research bridging health and the wider environment.
Tropical Health and Environmental Research is this new base. It will follow the World Health Organisation’s One Health approach.
The new facility opens a wide range of new research opportunities.
Expanding and developing research opportunities
Professor Brian Walker, new Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research Strategy and Resources, wants your help.
The event aims to:
- identify existing and potential collaborations to grow our research community across South East Asia
- expand our research capacity at NUMed
- develop and catalyse our new research facilities
Excellent facilities
We're equipping the new facility with:
- wet labs for environmental quality analysis in:
- water chemistry
- microbiology
- quantitative molecular biology
- office and laboratory space
- residential facilities
There are plans for a clinical care walk-in facility. We will act as a base of international quality to support research in South East Asia.
