About me

I graduated from the University of Sheffield many years ago with a BEng Civil & Structural Engineering and worked for Laing Construction and Bullen Consultants on various construction projects before moving to Singapore to project manage the design and build of New Town Secondary School.

Subsequently I joined Ericsson and worked in project management of mobile telecommunication network deployment; then I joined Siemens Mobile Networks as their National Implementation Manager for the first 3G network in the UK - actually the first commercial 3G network in Europe; and later I became the Director of Programme Management, responsible for delivery of all projects.

My family and I then moved to Dubai where I held Director and Country Manager positions for a small telecommunications company; before brief spells as Operations Manager of an IT services company, and a financial services company, prior to returning to the UK.

I joined the University at the end of January 2015.
