Description: 

Summary:

  1. Pupils will learn the principles of Balance diet
  2. Pupils will explore the rocky shore and gather food
  3. Pupils will have the opportunity to try different types of Sea food

 Resources needed :

  • Worksheets:
    • Worksheet 1- a balanced diet; pupils learn how seafood can be part of a balanced diet.
    • Worksheet 2-Desert Island Menu; pupils will learn identification skills by ticking off edible organisms they find out in the rocky shore.
  • clipboard
  • pencils
  • buckets.

Extension activity:

  • Have a test session with the pupils. Prepare some sea foods beforehand and encourage them to try a range of different dishes. Examples include: mussels, cockles, crab, prawns, samphire and salmon.
