The ocean as a resource: Inventions from the Sea

Description: 

This activity introduces the topic of marine inventions and how we exploit the resources from the ocean.

By the end of the lesson students will learn:

  • Ways in which humans exploit the ocean for it valuable resources.
  • A little about the history of ship building in the North East:  Identifying the big marine inventions and how we design ships today.
  • The main concepts marine engineers need to consider when designing a ship
