Newcastle University Singapore students win prestigious NEC Industrial Innovation competition

Congratulations to BEng (Hons) Electrical Power Engineering (Singapore) students Derek Ng, Ng Oei Tat and Lee Tong Hua!

These students won their awards at the NEC Industrial Innovation competition held in December 2016 in Singapore.

The competition aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their new concepts and ideas in public safety, transportation, healthcare and education for NEC, and to promote an environment of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

It is also very pleasing to know that these students have received some of the top awards amidst their strong competitors from NUS, NTU, and SUTD.

Below are our students with the following awards:

Derek Ng - Top winner (by Essay) - $5000
Ng Oei Tat - Runner-up Innovation by inventor) - $1500
Lee Tong Hua - Merit award (by Essay) - $300
