Winner of “Fifth International Competition for Safe and Affordable Ferries”

A team of Singapore students led by Newcastle University recently won the First Prize at the “Fifth International Competition for Safe and Affordable Ferries”.

The annual competition is organised by Worldwide Ferry Safety Association (WFSA), a not-for-profit organisation, based in the United States. The objective of the competition is to design a passenger ferry for travel on the Singapore Straits between Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The team captain of the team, Marcus Tze Kang Teo of NTU, was invited to New York City to give a presentation and receive the prize at the 22nd March at the annual Ferry Safety and Technology Conference in in the United States.
