NewRIIS welcomes first CPD delegates

NewRIIS has welcomed guests and delegates from leading commercial businesses, renowned academic institutions, global research partners and national authorities to the University's first CPD event in Singapore.

Smart Grids: From Concept to Reality, led by Professor Phil Taylor, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Science, Agriculture and Engineering, took place over Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 June 2017. The course demonstrated how smart grids have the potential to be a key enabler for countries worldwide to make the low carbon transition, whilst also addressing the energy trilemma of security, affordability and sustainability.

The two-day programme was also facilitated by Dr Damian Giaouris, Senior Lecturer in Control of Electrical Systems; Dr Anurag Sharma, Assistant Professor in Electrical Power Engineering and Dr Thillainathan Logenthiran, Assistant Professor in Electrical Power Engineering.

Upcoming event

Later this month, NewRIIS is also delighted to welcome Professor Nick Holliman, to deliver a workshop. Nick is Professor of Visualization at the School of Computing Science and his workshop will enable participants to understand more clearly and more usefully their own data and enjoy an interactive introduction to Microsoft Power BI to create their own visualizations.
