2023/24 Changes to Student Finance
2023/24 Changes to Student FinanceThe Government recently announced changes to the Student Finance system for students starting their studies in 2023/24.
- Tuition Fees are guaranteed to be £9,250 up to and including the 2024/25 academic year
- Interest will be RPI + 0% meaning graduates won't repay more than they borrowed in real terms
- Graduates will begin to repay their loan when their salary is above £25,000 a year. This figure is guaranteed until the 2026/27 academic year.
- Debts will be written off 40 years after graduating

Tuition Fee and Living Costs LoansAll eligible students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan of £9,250 and a Living Costs Loan while they're studying at Newcastle University.

Scholarships and BursariesThe University offer an Opportunity Scholarship to all eligible students. You can get a £1,000 or £2,000 non-repayable award each year based purely on your household income. For information on this please read our leaflet.

Medicine and Dentistry StudentsFunding for New Students
If you're funded by Student Finance England and you're going to study Medicine (MBBS) or Dentistry (BDS) the funding changes toward the end of your course. The first 4 years are funded by SFE.
