Change of Candidature

You should complete a ‘Change of Candidature’ application form if you would like to transfer from a full-time to a part-time programme, or vice versa.  Before submitting your application form, please take the following into account:

  • Certain degree programmes do not permit part-time study and in the first instance you should consult with your supervisor to determine whether the change that you wish to make is possible.
  • Part-time study may not be possible for international students who hold visas, due to their immigration status.  Please seek advice from the Visa Team prior to submitting your application.
  • Changing candidature is likely to result in a change to the tuition fee that is due.
  • Unless a specific request is made, your candidature will be changed from the date that your application is approved.  Your remaining candidature will be calculated from the date of the transfer.

Apply for a Change of Candidature

You should complete all sections of the application form, providing reasons for and evidence to support the change.  You should ask your supervisor to provide a statement to support the change and approval from the Head of School/Institute (or nominee) should also be requested.
