Newcastle University LGBT+ Society

A social and support network for all LGBT+ students at Newcastle University. The society aims to 'ensure that all LGBT+ students gain the most out of their time at Newcastle. The society raises awareness around campus, supports relevant campaigns and runs regular social events. Newcastle University Student Union LGBT officer

This is one of the part time officers elected annually that represents LGBT students on your student union council. The officer raises awareness around campus and works to combat homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. Please feel free to contact by email if you need any advice on university related LGBT+ issues or is you want to see something change at university in relation to LGBT+ staff and students.


Since being set up by students in Newcastle, Nightline has been listening, providing emotional support and information to students, every night during term time, 8pm-8am. Nightline is student-run and on the other end of the phone when there is no-one else you can talk to.

The Beaumont Society is a national self help body run by and for the transgender community.

The Gender Trust

The Gender Trust has a membership organisation for trans people which provides a quarterly magazine and a confidential contact directory that enables members to make one to one contact with each other for mutual friendship and support.
