Specialist Learning Advisers can offer the following guidance and support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties:

Advice and information

  • An opportunity to meet and discuss individual needs
  • Advise on assessment for Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Advise on screening and assessment for scoptopic sensitivity
  • Advise on Disabled Students Allowance
  • Arrange appropriate examination concessions
  • Liaise with tutors and other relevant staff in University Schools

Specialist Learning Advisers can offer or arrange the following support for students:

  • Transition Event
  • Autism/Aspergers Support Network (AASN)
  • Social Mentoring
  • Study Skills/Skill Signposting, including:
    • Strategies to improve organisational skills / time management
    • Essay writing techniques
    • Note taking techniques
    • Reading strategies
    • Revision techniques
