Study Skills Support

Service Opening times

We are able to offer study skills support to students between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The team supports students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and students with AD(H)D or Autism Spectrum Disorders


Specialist one-to-one study skills

What can you expect?

• Sessions will focus on supporting you to develop independent study skills based around the Graduate Skills Framework. These include:

  • Research Skills
  • Literacy
  • Critical Thinking
  • Active Learning
  • Communication
  • Organisation/self-management
  • Time Management

• All sessions will be student-led as our aim is always to deliver structured and tailored support for students to become independent learners. Therefore, please identify your priorities for support and come to sessions prepared to discuss the content agreed with your study skills tutor.

• You will be offered up to ten sessions with a specialist study skills tutor

• Your support needs will be reviewed with you after 10 hours and additional hours provided where needed.

• Due to the high demand for study skills appointments, you may need to be flexible as we cannot guarantee that you will be offered appointments on the same day or at the same time for every session.

What you cannot expect:

• Proofreading
• Subject specific advice or guidance on the academic content of your work or potential grades
