Biodiversity Events

Tree Trails

Our hugely popular tree trails take place all year round and are a great way to get out the office on a lunch time.

Big University Bird Watch Week

Starting in January 2012, this annual event has included bird identification talks, walks, bird box building workshops and tricky bird quiz with a prize awarded to the winner! It also gives us a chance to survey what birds actually visit our campus with identification sheets filled out by participants over the week.

Knowing Nature Talks

We often get experts in to talk about the natural environment over a lunchtime time. Previous talks have included tree disease, urban mammals, bees and many more. So keep an eye for the next knowing nature talk, or get in touch with suggestions of other talks you would like to hear!

Tree Week & Festival

The University's first Tree Week took place from the 14th to the 17th May 2013. Working closely with OPAL we were able to offer a Tree Walk, Tree Health Survey, a Tree Disease Talk and a Tree Festival which took place on the Students Union Lawn involving willow weaving, bird box building and wood carving.

Many more – keep an eye out for other events such as flower walks, nature counts, butterfly surveys and much more by following @NCLSusCampus on Twitter or one Facebook @NCLSustainabilityTeam.
