Engagement Plan

The Sustainability Team have mapped out a sustainability engagement 'journey' for staff and students at the University. Our Engagement Plan 2016 highlights a whole range of opportunities for you to get involved with sustainability on campus. Please contact us at if you require further information.

Key sustainability opportunities include:

  • Student representation at the Environmental Sustainability Committee by the President of the Students' Union - to report on any issues raised by the student body.
  • Green project involvement for staff and students such as Green Impact and Go Volunteer - give something back to your community and develop new skills!
  • A range of sustainability events hosted by the Sustainability Team, Institute for Sustainability, RenewCastle (student sustainability society) and the Students' Union throughout the year.
  • Working with the Sustainability Team! We have a wide range of resources and expertise to help with student projects. We are currently working on establishing a Living Lab scheme, where we hope to conduct multi-disciplinary research between academics, students and ESS, using the University and its campus as a lab to solve the most pressing sustainability issues facing the world. We could provide funding for a project if we can! Email with your proposal to evaluate!
