Green Impact

***Unfortunately, due to the University's disaffiliation with the National Union of Students, we are no longer able to participate in the Green Impact Scheme.***

Green Impact is an environmental accreditation and awards scheme, bringing staff and students together with their wider communities to enable and showcase positive changes in environmental practice. It is a grass roots scheme that celebrates achievements, recognises the efforts of individuals and encourages sharing of good practice.

Programme for Green ImpactStaff members form teams to work through our specifically designed online workbook. Using this as a framework for continual improvement, teams work through criteria covering every aspect of sustainability: biodiversity, fair-trade, energy, waste, travel and more.

By accruing 'greening' points and collecting evidence via the online workbook, teams can gain awards each academic year (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Excellence projects).

How can you get involved?

Your department, service or unit may already have a team established (see table below). If not, you can start a new Green Impact team by contacting and then simply register online.
